What To Expect

I am a fine art portrait photographer for people who want beautiful photos hand retouched and printed on fine art paper (moms) , and a great looking photo for their yearbook (kids).

Two Locations

Photoshoots are available in two locations: on location in and around the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City, or in Chagrin Falls, Ohio and locations in the surrounding area.

Before The Shoot

A parent comes at the beginning of the photoshoot to view fine art print samples, which are very different than commercially printed lab photographs. They will view three types of fine art paper available for print purchases so they know the choices when placing their print order. The parent then exits as I have found over the years that most teens are more comfortable without mom or dad watching their photoshoot.

Wardrobe Assistance

Clients bring multiple outfits for a variety of looks….(some kids even bring pages from magazines that they like)…or anything that they would like included in their photo shoot….(sometimes kids include dogs or horses)! Plain clothing generally looks best. Patterns can be distracting. Also, it's best to avoid all black or all white clothing.

High Quality Retouching

Your images selected for fine art prints are retouched by hand to enhance your best features and to deliver optimal color, clarity, and detail in the final image.

Cost

The photo shoot costs $275 and is paid at the time of the shoot in cash or check. This covers the photo shoot which will last about two to two and a half hours. I will take over 500 images, and you will get a flash drive of over 100 “best of” proofs from the photoshoot.

Fine Art Prints

Fine art prints are sold separately from the photo shoot. Each image ordered is retouched by hand before printing on fine art paper. The three types of fine art paper available are previewed before the photoshoot, as the finished product is very different than commercially printed photographs.

Print Pricing (depending on paper choice):

  • 5 X 7 for $35 to $45(nice for relatives)

  • 8 X 10 for $50 to $60 (nice for desks or shelves)

  • 11 X 17 for $110 to $135 (nice for hanging on walls, the size I have in my home)

  • 15 X 20 for $200 to $225 (bigger for hanging on walls)

Custom sizes are also available.

Retouching is $75 per hour and is a one time per image fee. Most images take between 10-15 minutes. 

Digital Files

One digital file formatted for reprinting 5 X 7 or smaller is free if the print order (excluding retouching fees) is over $200. The file must be one of the images in the print order. This file can be used for anything you want – you own the copyright! You can use it for the yearbook, for a holiday card, college applications, graduation announcements, etc. 

Digital files cost $100 per image fully retouched if the order is below $200.

Special: For every $200 you spend on your print order, you "earn" another free digital file from your print order.
